Welcome to HT Pride, where love and unity take center stage! JFKLiving absolutely LOVES to get involved in the local community, and our biggest celebration of the year is HTEI’s Haddon Township Pride. Find out more about HT Pride…and what else we get up to in Haddon Township below!
As a husband/husband run team, you can imagine that LGBTQ+ Pride is of huge importance to us.
JFKLiving celebrates inclusivity and equity, and the fight for Fair Housing and anti-discrimination runs through the essence of our business.
But how did JFKLiving get involved with Haddon Township Pride?
In the fall of 2020 following an unprecedented year of lockdowns and remote work, our (then) team of six real estate geeks planted roots in a new office in Haddon Township.
Centrally-located along Haddon Ave, opposite the incredible Koupa Espresso Bar, and sandwiched between Westmont Party and Franco’s Place, we can’t tell you how welcoming our new neighbors were.
After debating for a long time over where we wanted our first office to be, we knew we’d found home.
We moved into Haddon Township with the intention of getting more involved in this community.
We wanted to organize events, and invest into the growth of Haddon Township to solidify it as its own bustling, thriving hub.
After all, Collingswood and Haddonfield get all the attention, but this Township is just as special, right?
It’s probably no coincidence that, as a gay-owned real estate team, our first big roar into this neighborhood was Haddon Township Pride 2021.
Haddon Township Equity Initiative initially approached JFKLiving asking if we wanted to be involved in the Township’s first ever Pride Parade and Events. We, naturally, said: “Just try and stop us”!
JFKLiving celebrated HT Pride 2021 as a Platinum Sponsor, walked in the parade, supplied volunteers, provided media for HTEI to share online, offered the office as Green Room space for performers, and JFKLiving’s Co-Team Lead + Creative Director Pip Haxby-Thompson emceed at one of the events, SoHa Pride Fest.
All of this community activity led to Pip emceeing at more local events including town favorite, Summer Solstice, and suddenly JFKLiving was a household name (sort of).
2023 presented the third annual HT Pride.
The Parade saw over a thousand people march down it. The community came out in droves to support. The JFKLiving-sponsored Pride & Progress Night offered the most athletic Drag Queen Lip Sync Battle yet.
And HT Pride is showing no sign of slowing down, as each year escalates to be bigger and better.
In 2022, Pip officially joined the Haddon Township Equity Initiative as a Board Member, and has been a vital part of the all-volunteer crew since then in supporting this community.
Our involvement in this community has snowballed since Pride 2021, and we’ve now met, fist-bumped, hugged and ugly-cried happy tears with so many of this community.
And what an honor that’s been. It is our goal not only to support an equitable and inclusive environment in our town, but to give back. We truly believe actions speak louder than words 🫂 > 💬 We talk about how much we love our local community, but it’s important for us to physically invest in it too. Since we’ve been at our Haddon Township office we’ve:
Hosted clean-up days
...across Haddon Township, Collingswood and Cherry Hill.
Initiated an annual food drive
...for the Food Bank of South Jersey, amongst drives for other causes.
Contributed to and supported other local food
...and coat drives.
Sponsored local sports teams
...and raised awareness for many local charities and initiatives.
We spearheaded our own initiative: JFKGiving
JFKGiving derived from our desire to start making a regular charitable donation every quarter of the year, but we wanted to put control in the hands of our social media followers by letting them vote for the charities.
We started JFKGiving in January 2020 and so far we’ve donated over $20,000 to various South Jersey and Philadelphia causes, including the Food Bank of South Jersey, Voorhees Animal Orphanage and Camden Rescue Mission.
Social media and food drives aside, we’re just a real estate team at the end of the day.
But we do believe we’re a team with a difference (hence why our slogan is “Real estate… but make it awesome” ). Buying or selling a house is a huge event; it’s probably the biggest financial milestone you’ll ever encounter.

And, most importantly (and bringing us back to Pride), we uphold the highest ethics, demanding equal opportunity and fighting for Fair Housing every step of the way.
